Picture a couple planning a weekend in Andorra. They ask for a quiet hotel, parking for their electric car and easy access to the slopes. The assistant suggests a few options, explains its choices and answers follow-up questions. They have not opened a single hotel website yet.

This scenario illustrates a shift in search: part of the comparison can happen within the answer itself. Your website still needs to persuade the people who visit it. It also needs to provide information precise enough to be found and accurately described before that visit.

For a business owner, waiting for traffic to fall before taking an interest means watching only the end of the journey. French and Spanish data already give us reasons to look at what happens at the beginning.

The shift is already happening across the border.

In France, Arcom recorded nearly 33 million unique visitors to AI services in April 2026. Their audience grew by 34% between July 2025 and April 2026, according to Médiamétrie//NetRatings data in its report published in June. These figures measure visits to the services across all uses, not commercial search volume. [1]

A separate survey documents the connection with search: 73% of French generative AI users use it to find information at least once a month. This finding from the 2026 Digital Barometer is based on a June 2025 survey. The date matters: those habits were already established last year. [2]

In Spain, INE reports that 37.9% of people aged 16 to 74 had used generative AI in the three months before the 2025 survey. This is an adoption indicator with a different scope from the French studies. It confirms that the subject also concerns Spanish customers. [3]

These surveys do not measure the customers of Andorran businesses. They describe neighbouring markets that many of those businesses serve. For a hotel, retailer or professional working with these audiences, checking its presence in AI answers is a reasonable commercial step.

Google is changing too.

Google remains an essential part of search. Its interface is evolving, though: AI Overviews provide a summary within search results, while AI Mode lets people explore a question through a conversation. The Gemini app is a separate entry point.

In Spain, Google began rolling out AI Mode on 8 October 2025. In that announcement, the company said early users were asking questions two to three times longer than traditional queries. It becomes easier to move from “hotel Andorra” to a request with a budget, constraints and preferences. [4]

The interface keeps moving. On 15 October 2026, Google announced more source links appearing higher in AI answers more often, alongside a test highlighting certain official pages useful for completing a task. This announcement concerns the presentation of answers; it does not, by itself, establish an increase in clicks. [5]

What the United States can show us

A Semrush study published on 21 October 2026 tracks 400 commercial keywords on Google in the United States, on desktop. Within this sample, AI Overview coverage rose from 45.75% in September 2025 to 88% in August 2026. The keywords cover banking, software and ecommerce: the result does not represent all searches or the Andorran market. [6]

Clicks deserve attention too. In the browsing activity of 900 US adults in March 2025, Pew Research Center observed a click on a traditional result in 8% of visits with an AI summary, compared with 15% without one. The comparison does not establish that the summary explains the entire difference. It shows why a Google ranking cannot describe visibility on its own. [7]

ChatGPT leads AI referrals. It does not cover the whole journey.

To set priorities, look at the visits assistants send to websites. In September 2026, Statcounter measured the following distribution across sites using its audience measurement tool. These percentages describe only visits referred by the chatbots it tracks. They measure neither a share of all Internet searches nor a share of all AI users. [8] [9]

ChatGPT is therefore a sensible first place to look. Gemini, Perplexity and Claude also deserve a check against questions important to your business. A tool can help people compare without generating many clicks. And this table does not isolate AI answers integrated into Google.

A share of referral traffic is not a share of influence. To understand what matters in your sector, examine the answers themselves and listen to how prospective customers describe their search.

Your advantage: make your expertise available.

A business knows its constraints, its customers and the questions that cause hesitation before a purchase. Much of that knowledge stays in meetings and private conversations. Publishing it gives customers reasons to consider you and provides information search tools can consult.

Answer where the decision takes shape

Consider a hotel welcoming families from Toulouse or Barcelona. “An unforgettable stay in the heart of the mountains” does not answer questions about parking, connecting rooms, arrival times or getting to activities without a car. Precise answers help people choose.

The same applies to a renovation contractor explaining what changes a quote, or an accounting firm describing the first meeting. The most useful content is often what you can already explain to a customer. Add examples you have permission to use, actual conditions and an update date when information changes.

Publish at a pace that adds value

A new article every week does not buy a place in an AI answer. Regular publishing helps you cover questions gradually and keep answers current. Some weeks, updating a service page will be more useful than publishing another post.

Google says the foundations of organic search still matter for its AI features: accessible pages, helpful content and important information available as text. No special markup guarantees inclusion in these answers. [10]

Stay consistent in your customers’ languages

Check your business name, services, contact details, opening hours and conditions across your website and public profiles. Adapt important pages to the languages your customers actually use. A complete French page and a vague Spanish version do not provide the same service.

This work takes time because it depends on your actual business. Starting now lets you build a body of precise answers, correct information and observe results. A few generic texts cannot replace that advantage.

A first month to find out where you stand.

You can start without rebuilding the whole website. The first month is about identifying gaps, fixing a few and creating a baseline for what comes next.

  1. Collect ten customer questions. Choose questions that come before a quote, booking or meeting. Note the French, Spanish or Catalan variations relevant to your business.
  2. Observe the answers. Test the questions in several tools with web search. Save the date, language, businesses mentioned and sources linked. Repeat a few days later: a single answer is not a stable ranking.
  3. Complete three priority pages. Choose gaps that could hold up a decision: conditions, steps, selection criteria or service coverage. Use your actual practices and documents.
  4. Connect visibility with enquiries. Track identifiable visits from assistants, then contacts and their quality. Ask new customers how they found you.

You will have a more useful picture than an isolated score: the questions where you appear, those highlighting other businesses and the information you still need to publish. None of these actions guarantees a citation. They improve the quality of your presence and your ability to track how it evolves.

Develop your visibility with MediaLab.

For a business owner, the difficulty is often finding time to turn expertise into useful pages and keep them current. MediaLab helps businesses in Andorra do that work: examine searches related to their activity, clarify service pages and organise content around their customers’ questions.

Tracking focuses on what supports decisions: missing information, cited sources, visits and enquiries. Google search visibility and visibility in AI answers are developed together, at a pace that suits your business.

Let’s start with your customers: what do they ask before calling, and what answers do they find today?
